Mrs. Annette Childress, age 83, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (December 28, 2019) at her home. She had spent most of her life in the Honaker area and was a 1954 graduate of Honaker High School. She had retired as Food Services Supervisor at Appalachian Correctional Center. A devoted and active member of Swords Creek Community Baptist Church for over thirty years, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a member of the SCCBC Seenagers Group, attended water aerobics and helped with Splash Ministries. Enjoying life to it’s fullest, she was always ready for a new adventure, but her greatest joy was cooking and spending time with her family.
