Obituary

Lenard Toy Coxton, age 77, passed away December 1, 2019 at Creekview Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Knoxville, TN. He had suffered from Dementia for the last three years. He was born February 5, 1942 in Rowe, VA, to the late Earnest Hall and Dora Coxton. He raised his family in Richlands Va. He was a disabled coal miner and was a member of Local 1509 for 50 years. He was of the Pentecostal Faith, having given his life to the Lord in 1981 at the Block Church in Swords Creek, VA. He loved South Holston Lake and shared his love for the lake with his girls. He had them swimming nearly before they could walk. Once they could swim, he brought out the ski board, after the learned to stand and balance on the ski board, they graduated to regular skis. By the time Lynn was seven years old, she could slalom ski. She was so little, the rope stayed under the water. But that was Lenard, he loved the water, and he loved his girls even more!
Besides his parents, grandparents, Lenard was proceeded in death by his daughter, Sheree Noelle Coxton, one brother, Dors Coxton, two sisters, Dorothy Looney, Martha (Marty) Brewster.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Lynn Lester and Van, Talbot, TN, granddaughter, Savanah Roberts and Justin of New Market, TN, two great-grandsons, Beaux Wyatt Lester and Mack Henry Roberts, one great-granddaughter, Lacey Dakota Roberts; one brother, James Coxton of Rehoboth Beach, DE, two sisters, Jean Fletcher of Marion, VA and Janie McCormack of Charleston WV; one half-brother, Earnest Hall, Jr. (Bubby) of Shenandoah Valley, VA, and former wife, Roberta Coxton Matney, Bristol TN and a special niece he loved dearly, Stephanie Brewster Cowen, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted 2PM Thursday in Honaker Funeral Chapel, Honaker, VA with Reverend Don Smith and Reverend Johnny Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA.
The family will receive friends after 6PM Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Van Lester, Floyd Lester, Jr. (Bubby), Dale Blankenship, Justin Roberts, Nick Burke, and Mack Horn.
Death takes the body,
