Obituary for Wesley Elmer Lee

Mr. Wesley Elmer Lee, known to his fellow truck drivers as “Big Earl”, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born September 4, 1957 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elmer and June A. Keen Lee. He was a lifelong resident of the area and had served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a truck driver for over thirty years. During his trucking career, he worked for nineteen years at Martin Trucking in Honaker, Virginia; thirteen years at Claude Keene Trucking in Contrary, Virginia; and was currently employed at Worley Trucking Company in Glade Spring, Virginia. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Reece and Rosa Keen; paternal grandparents, Joe and Alice Darnell; uncle, Jim Keen; father-in-law, Fred G. Lockhart and brother-in-law, Daniel Lockhart.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Patricia Harrison Lee of the home; two sons, Wesley Brian Lee of Abingdon, Virginia and Nicholas Montgomery of Macon, Georgia; two step-daughters, Tara Renae Justus of Lebanon, Virginia and Heather Danielle Wilson of Hillsboro, North Carolina; three sisters, Vickie Lee of Elizabethton, Tennessee; Alethia Lee of Kingsport, Tennessee and Tiffany Lee of Columbus, Ohio; special friends, Terry “T.P.” Price, Mack Davis and George Marshall.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard “Red” Keen and Rev. Billy Clifton officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Motorcycle escort will be provided by Fallen Warriors Motorcycle Honor Guard and Military Graveside Honors will be conducted.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Saturday.
