Mr. George Timothy Crabtree, age 62, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (August 13, 2019) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born October 12, 1956 in Bristol, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Rev. James Lee Crabtree and Joyce Pauline Wray Crabtree. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1975 graduate of Honaker High School. He was a former member of the Honaker Volunteer Fire Department and had served as a police officer for the Honaker Police Department from 1980-1984. He had been employed as a coal miner for Island Creek Coal Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing dirt track cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Adrian Crabtree.
Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Helen Marie Crabtree of the home; three children, Timothy Brian Crabtree, Sr. and wife, Estella of Paynesville, West Virginia, Kristin Crabtree-Musick and husband, Rusty of Jolo, West Virginia and James Crabtree and wife, Tracy of Lebanon, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Timothy “Elrod” Crabtree, Christopher “Slim” Crabtree, Jaxon Abel Morgan Crabtree, Jonathan Jaden Crabtree, Bradley Joseph Douglas Musick, Jazmyne Nikkole Lavender Musick and Rylan Lester; two brothers, Paul Crabtree and wife, Dena and Charles Crabtree and wife, Gloria; sister-in-law, Jean Crabtree and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Rose, Rev. George Taylor and Paul Crabtree officiating. UMWA honors will be conducted by UMWA Sub-28 Chaplain Corp.
Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
