Phillip Wayne “Dickie/Whittle” Whitt, age 58, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday (July 25, 2019) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born June 28, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late Clyde Ephraim and Helen Elizabeth Carpenter Whitt. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a strip miner for Paramont Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his very special foster parents, Ervin and Lola Rowe; one granddaughter, Adaleigh Grace; one brother, Ricky McGraw and one nephew, Jason Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Whitt; two daughters, Heather Hamilton and husband, Derrick of Lebanon, Virginia and Kimberly Whitt of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; six grandchildren, Jenna, Carson, Victoria, Jett, Finley and Lilly; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and James Holmes, Debbie and Jack Carpenter and Sherry and Lloyd Dale all of Lebanon, Virginia; one brother, Tank McGraw of Claypool Hill, Virginia; special friend, Donna Whited; his work family at Paramont Coal and several nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neil Howington officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
