Mrs. Gearldine Johnson, age 75, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (April 26, 2019) at her home. Born March 12, 1944 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Carlos and Amanda Taylor Ball. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed quilting, but most of all spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Roy Johnson, one brother, Carter Ball, and one sister, Maxie Villenueve. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include three children, Diana Roberts and Wayne Johnson both of Honaker, and Lisa Miller and Michael White of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Michelle Ward of the home, Tabitha Ray of Raven, Joshua Clark and wife, Jamie of Wardell, and Ryler Lowe of Swords Creek; special pet, Little Bit; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.
Upon Geraldine’s request, there will be no formal funeral service or visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Johnson Cemetery in the Combs Ridge section of Council, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
