Lydia Jane Honaker, a life-long resident of Russell County, passed away on Monday at the age of 73. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Norman “Butch” Honaker, Lydia was a loving and devoted mother of Norma Jean Honaker of Bristol, Tennessee; and, Elisa Dye and husband, David of Swords Creek.

Lydia loved a good cup of coffee, a book, her beloved pets, her grandchild, Holly Dye Blankenship and husband, Chaz, and her great-grandchildren, Macie, Cambrie, and Parker. Daughter of the late John T. and Stella Keen of Lynn Springs, Lydia will be fondly remembered by her surviving siblings, Gaynelle Street and husband, Emory of Honaker; John B. Keen and wife, Norma of Claypool Hill, Stanley Keen and wife, Boneda of Swords Creek, and Thomas Dean Keen and wife, Betty of Swords Creek.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brian Messer, Gary Keen, John Keen, Jr, Ben Price, Danny Keen and James Street.
The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Thursday.
