Amanda Proffit Duty, age 40, of Cleveland, Virginia passed away Thursday (April 11, 2019) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born March 17, 1979 in Tazewell County, Virginia she was a daughter of Tommy Proffit of Honaker, Virginia and Wanda Woodard Miller of Swords Creek, Virginia. She spent most of her life in Buchanan and Russell counties and was a member of Dismal Holiness Church. She was a 1997 graduate of Honaker High School.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Noble and Draper Woodard; paternal grandparents, Herman and Oma Proffit and uncles, Darrell Woodard and James Ervin Proffit.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Thomas Duty; two children, Cheyenne Coleman of Blackford, Virginia and Dalton Coleman of Cleveland, Virginia; three sisters, Lacreshia “Lou” Nunery of Kingsport, Tennessee, Breanna Proffit and Faith Proffit both of Honaker, Virginia; her step-father, Kermit MIller and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Bill Proffit and Rev. Ronnie Kinder officiating.
The family will receive friends after 10 AM Sunday.
