Mr. William “Willie” Lee Stump, age 72 of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (March 19, 2019) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born September 6, 1946 in Honaker, Virginia, he was a son of the late James and Gaynell Yates Stump. A lifelong resident of the area, he had been a devoted employee at the same location since the age of eighteen, currently working as a mechanic for H & H Logging. He enjoyed watching football games, being outdoors, but most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Ida Stump, maternal grandparents, Everett and Daisy Yates, one brother, Robert Stump, his sister-in-law, Linda Stump, and nephew, Justin Miller.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry “Roger” Stump and Jerry Stump both of Honaker; two sisters, Bonnie Stump and Linda Miller and husband, Larry all of Honaker; four nieces, Becky Stump, Ashley Lester and husband, John, Crystal Chaffin and husband, R.J., and Jennifer Hale; three nephews, Brian Stump, James Stump and wife, Kristy, and Eddie Stump; great-nieces, Kendra Smith and husband, Evan, Chandra Hale, Olivia Hale, Linda Heaven Lee Stump, and Addilynne “AddieLee” Lester; great-nephews, Xavier Chaffin and wife, Bridget, Austin “Tate” Stump, and Deion Watts; great-great-nieces, Onalee Smith and Ella Chaffin; great-great-nephew, Hunter Chaffin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Gerald Lester and Rev. Steve Lester officiating. Interment will follow in the Stump Cemetery at Honaker, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hilton, Anthony Blackwell, Herman Gent, Mitch Hart, Ira Eads, Ricky Fuller, Tim Gibson, Anthony Hart, and Claude Hart.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rod Blackwell, Lonnie Blackwell, Dan Cox, and Bill Chambers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday.
