Mr. Dewey Lee Tiller, age 80, of Honaker, Virginia, passed from this life on Wednesday (March 6, 2019) to his heavenly home at Bristol Select Specialty Hospital surrounded by his family. Born January 10, 1939 in Council, Virginia, he was a son of the late Spence and Rosa Johnson Tiller. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1957 graduate of Council High School, and had been employed as a coal miner during his early years. Dewey was retired from Buchanan County School System as a custodian and bus driver with Council Elementary School. While there he made many lifelong friends among the staff and students, including special friends, Curt Wilson and Wayne Hale. He had farmed for over thirty-two years on Big A Mountain, where he took great pride in his cattle and property. At the end of the day every cow was counted and the coffee pot was empty. Dewey was a proud member of the Democrat Party for over thirty years, where he made many friends within the local government.
